Oluwatomi celebrating her Senior Business Analyst role after completing The Career Accelerators program.

Today’s success story is not just a celebration of Oluwatomi’s hard work, tenacity and adaptability, but a story filled with practical strategies and nuggets for transitioning into tech regardless of your background or experience.

Oluwatomi’s journey started in April 2023 when she registered for a Business Analysis program with another training provider. After the entire program, she was still confused, felt completely lost and lacked the confidence to apply for a single job. The resume she received was not professionally done as it had lots of typos (a major red flag for recruiters/hiring managers). Feeling down, she spoke to her hubby who had just finished a program with TCA. Her hubby encouraged her to sign up for TCA’s Business Analysis program and she will not regret it. While she did not want to pay another fee, after speaking to Steve – she was fully assured of her success and promptly signed up for the next batch.

The difference between TCA and the other training provider was Night and Day. TCA’s live project experience was a game changer as Oluwatomi now learnt how to apply key concepts as a practicing Business Analyst. TCA’s refined resume was also professionally done and in total Oluwatomi had access to 3 mentors to help her through her transition.

At the end of the program with TCA, Oluwatomi was super pumped and motivated and hit the job market with full force, she started getting a lot of attention from the market but none of them fully materialized. As with every human being, Oluwatomi initially felt like giving up, but remembering the success stories being posted by TCA always gave her hope – that if others are getting jobs, then she can too. This kept her going, in addition to the support she received from her accountability partner. The Bible says 1 will chase 1000 and 2 will chase 10000. This is what happened to Oluwatomi as she was paired with a fantastic accountability partner who kept her accountable throughout. They still meet every single week.

She also reached out to Victoria - one of TCA’s exceptional mentors who has a similar background to Oluwatomi in the Insurance sector and received 2 pieces of advice that made a hugeee difference. Victoria advised Oluwatomi to leverage her insurance domain knowledge i.e. use industry language/terminologies and simpler, more relatable examples to demonstrate her competence in specific areas.

Then it happened! All within 4 days. How you may ask…Well, Oluwatomi received a call for an intermediate BA role on Thursday 7th March for a video interview with the recruiter. She impressed the recruiter so much that 10 minutes after the video interview, she received a Zoom invite for a panel interview with the hiring manager and 2 other people on Friday 8th March. During the panel interview, Oluwatomi experienced a different version of herself. She was supremely confident, leveraged her insurance domain knowledge which differentiated her from others and even made the interviewers laugh a couple of times (i.e. built an excellent rapport with them). After the interview, she further blew the interviewers away by sending a post-interview email expressing her excitement for the role. Within 24 hours the highly anticipated offer came through, and guess what – she was offered a Senior Business Analyst role instead of the intermediate BA role she initially applied for, with very very comfortable 6 figure salary and excellent benefits including a hybrid work model.

Just imagine for a second…

If Oluwatomi has decided not to try again after having a bad experience with the previous trainer,

if Oluwatomi had not taken action even when she was nervous and afraid,

if Oluwatomi didn’t have access to the right people to help her along the way,

if Oluwatomi had given up after the first rejection,

if Oluwatomi had decided after the first rejection that becoming a 6 figure-earning Business Analyst was not her destiny…

This beautiful success story would not have happened, not because Oluwatomi did not have what it took to make the transition, but because she gave up too quickly. And this is a question I want you to ask yourself today – what is holding you back from securing a fantastic 6 figure tech job?

We know you can achieve it…and we can’t wait to show you how.
